Teltronic set to attend International Workshop on Communication Technologies for Vehicles

Cambridge, 23nd May 2016. Teltronic, part of the Sepura Group, is set to attend the 10th International Workshop on Communication Technologies for Vehicles 2016, held in San Sebastián, Spain, on 6-7 June.

The event provides a forum for those involved in the theory or practice of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and communication technologies to present and investigate the challenges in their design and implementation.

Teltronic will participate in the Nets4Trains stream, which focuses on transportation systems for trains, metros and trams.

On 6th June at 11.30am, Amanda Esteban, Product Manager, and Sonia Moreno, Infrastructure Support, will give a presentation on The Viability of TETRA for ETCS Rail Signaling Systems.

Commenting on the session, Amanda Esteban said, “The ERTMS standard relies on two major blocks: ETCS (European Train Control System), the protection system, and GSM-R, the communication system.

“Our presentation will look at TETRA technology as a viable alternative to GSM-R in transportation environments that include signalling systems. We will demonstrate TETRA’s positive correlation to the seven Quality of Service parameters required of GSM-R (as defined in the EIRENE specification) and how it meets both safety and cost requirements.”

“We are delighted to be taking part in this prestigious event,” said Marta Fontecha, Teltronic’s Head of Product Management.

“We have over 40 years’ experience in designing, manufacturing and deploying critical communication systems for the transportation market. Our participation demonstrates our commitment to the sector – in particular, the niche area of signalling – as well as providing an opportunity to demonstrate our extensive expertise, proven through the deployment of countless systems worldwide.”
