FRMCS Solution Validation on High-Speed Line
For years, the GSM-R system has supported train-to-ground communications, but as it approaches obsolescence, the UIC has identified the need for a new technology capable of meeting the requirements of modern transport systems: FRMCS.
Teltronic takes on the challenge of developing a mission-critical communications solution based on 5G networks and MCX technologies, capable of meeting the demanding standards of the new FRMCS paradigm. A system that improves efficiency, enhances safety, and opens the door to advanced services and the digitalisation of the railway.
With the experience gained during the MoySEST project, driven by Teltronic and supported by the European Union, the company is moving towards a new disruptive model that proposes a new generation of communications for railway environments.
Validating an end-to-end FRMCS solution is a further example of Teltronic’s commitment to innovation, a project whose ambitious objectives required, from its earliest stages, a significant collaborative effort across different areas of the company.
First, this is an innovative project with a clear objective of application in the railway industry. Beyond theoretical frameworks, it aims to develop secure, resilient communications ready for a digitalised and hyperconnected railway ecosystem.
This involves the integration of 5G and MCX, two versatile technologies that require proper interaction to deliver the performance and features demanded in mission-critical environments. In this respect, the railway sector is highly demanding, requiring highly reliable systems supported by high-availability architecture and optimised design for consistent performance.
