Mato Grosso, TETRA Radio Network

The State of Mato Grosso, located in the Central-West region of Brazil, presents a unique scenario for communication challenges, especially in the public safety sector. With a vast geographic area, including remote regions, the effectiveness of communication becomes crucial for the efficiency of security operations.

In a joint effort between the Public Safety Department (Sesp) and the Integrated Center for Public Security Operations (Ciosp), an innovative project was developed with Teltronic solutions and technology. The goal was to replace the previous radio communication system, which was based on analog VHF technology in use since 1990, had become obsolete, and faced significant limitations in terms of coverage, security, and data integration.

The new solutions sought to meet the growing need for integrated, efficient, and secure communication among different agencies, requiring an urgent technological review and update.

The main challenge faced by the state was the modernization of the radio communication system to meet contemporary demands. The need was not only to replace outdated equipment but also to implement a solution that provided secure, reliable, and integrated communication across the region.

The solution needed to be robust enough to cover the extensive geographical area of the state, including challenging and difficult-to-access terrains, and provide a platform that could integrate different security agencies, allowing effective collaboration and a rapid response in critical situations.
