Teltronic, a European company with 50 years of experience in deploying critical communications solutions, has launched Teltronic MCX, a mobile virtual network operator for mission-critical users in Mexico. This platform revolutionizes the technological ecosystem by providing reliable voice, data, and video communications to strategic sectors such as public safety, mass transit, mining, oil & gas, and ports and airports.

The solution is deployed over Altan’s 4G network, which has nationwide coverage in Mexico. A mission-critical layer is added through direct integration between the MCX (Mission Critical Services) infrastructure and the operator’s network, completing the solution with key components such as devices, a mobile application, dispatch systems, management, and recording tools.

The joint development by Altan and Teltronic MCX ensures proper operation, guaranteeing availability and quality of service for mission-critical users, who benefit from network access priority and preferential treatment during congestion.

Another key strength is full interoperability with existing radio systems such as TETRA, P25, or TETRAPOL, allowing users of different systems to communicate transparently and securely, while preserving the confidentiality and integrity of communications.

The service covers 92% of Mexico’s population and, in areas without direct service, roams on other operator networks, reaching 99.9% of inhabited areas. By leveraging aggregated coverage, it offers high resilience and fault tolerance.

The solution was unveiled at the Protege Mexico Forum,

The solution also includes advanced security and confidentiality measures, such as authentication algorithms and end-to-end encryption, ensuring protection against potential attacks or data breaches.

Teltronic MCX offers flexible models tailored to the specific needs of each organization. MCX Lite provides basic voice, data, video, and geolocation communications with priority network access, while MCX Pro enhances these services with a guaranteed data rate, ensuring service delivery even during emergencies and network congestion.

The solution was unveiled at the Protege Mexico Forum, where the need for greater public investment in technology and innovation to improve national security was emphasized. “Teltronic’s MCX solution is a breakthrough and an efficient tool that complements the communications technology landscape, adding great value in use cases such as emergency management and large-scale events like the upcoming World Cup, and facilitating operations for government agencies with nationwide reach,” said Teltronic Mexico Director, Óscar Fernández.

“Our Teltronic MCX solution marks a turning point in mission-critical communications in Mexico. It delivers the security and reliability of mission-critical communications over a nationwide broadband network with dedicated spectrum for critical services. We reaffirm our commitment to providing advanced technologies that support the safety and operations of key sectors, while maximizing the return on previous investments by expanding coverage and functionality through broadband capabilities,” Fernández added.
