The light train will link Cholula and Puebla. Mexico bets for TELTRONIC professional and safe communication system.
Cholula- Puebla light train Project presents a double aim. On the one hand, solve the mobility problems of citizens as 3 and a half million travels are registered per day. On the other hand, push tourism in urban areas of the region and, hence, the economic development of the municipalities. For this project, existing rail lines will be used (17.3km track in length) from Rail Museum, in Puebla, to the arqueological area in Cholula.
In the starting phase, vehicles with capacity for 300-350 people will cover the service and stop in the 5 passenger stations of the scheme.
TELTRONIC participates in this Mexican project by providing the communication system. It is composed of TETRA NEBULA infrastructure that gives coverage to tracks and stations, and on-board equipment designed specifically for rail environments (EN50155). This will allow the communications management from the ITS application supplied by the Spanish company IKUSI.
To complement the solution, two additional types of radios will be provided: Desktop units for operators located on the Control Center and portable terminals for maintenance and security staff.
In the future, the system will incorporate more vehicles. This will be done by means of one of the key benefits of the TELTRONIC TETRA solution: 100% IP architecture and, hence, the flexibility and scalability provided.
Taking into account Puebla light train, Mexico trusts once more in TELTRONIC technology to cover the particular needs of critical sectors like the transportation. The Spanish company become the main TETRA supplier in the region with all these new projects.
