RTP-300 TELTRONIC on-board equipment presents a compact rack unit format in order to facilitate the installation within the vehicle.

This radio equipment is widely used in tramways and light trains where is required to comply with railway regulations (EN50155) and be compatible with a wide range of train’s battery voltages.

Apart from TETRA voice and data services, essentials in transport scenarios, by using this equipment is possible to manage a set of functionalities related to this environment like connection with Public Address and Intercom systems, GPS vehicle location, alarms and events management or interaction with other subsystems installed on-board throughout digital inputs and outputs.

Due to the different coaches and cabins found in the market, RTP-300 provides different configuration options within the vehicle. Such configuration may change depending on the number of racks installed as well as the application which is going to control the communication rack/s.

RTP-603 on-board equipment presents a 19” rack format. This EN50155 communications rack is the most advanced version that TELTRONIC offers to the market, overcoming the performance provided by its competitors.

This innovative equipment covers a wide set of rail functionalities: Voice and data communications between drivers and Control Center operators, management of communications with passengers, connection to the internal network of the vehicle to exchange operational information, installation of a dual equipment or vehicle positioning by means of beaconing systems.

Talking about transportation, nowadays metros and railways scenarios present strong requirements in terms of availability. These requirements are even increased if the projects consist of automated and semi-automated systems. For this reason, RTP-603 is usually installed in those scenarios: By combining a set of redundancies intra-cabins and inter-cabins managed by the radio equipment itself transparently, is possible to enhance drastically the availability of the on-board system in order to get the figures commonly established in previous scenarios.

RTP-S on-board equipment is mainly focused on data management in railway environments (EN50155).

RTP-S radio equipment has been designed according to the strong requirements set by the Railway Signaling market and its main applicators for radio systems. Among this set of requirements, two of them must be highlighted:

On the one hand, voice services are fully separated from data services. Thereby, a TETRA radio channel will be available 100% of the time for vital data transmission (location, speed restrictions, braking points or Limit Movement Authorities). On the other hand, the management of the radio system is done by the on-board signaling applications (safety part). TETRA radio acts as a modem-data providing to the external application the TETRA data services most suitable for bulk data transmission (Packet Data and Circuit Mode Data) in order to manage the vital information transmission.

The solution for the Railway Signaling market provided by TELTRONIC has several references of experience in medium-long distances railways, mining trains and freight trains for many reasons: The range of train’s battery voltages available in the equipment, the flexibility provided in terms of control interfaces and protocols and the WIFI connectivity option to transmit at the beginning/end the operation punctual massive information.

In order to manage the functions of TELTRONIC on-board equipment, a wide range of control consoles are provided as well.

Although there are different control consoles versions, all of them present a user-friendly interface from which is possible to access and control the radio equipment and a set of audio accessories (handset, loudspeaker and microphone) to allow driver to manage communications.

On one side, the Modular Console presents a compact size to facilitate its installation in driving desks with reduced available space. This console allows installing audio accessories layed out in the cabin ergonomically. The user interface consists of a LCD display to show operational information to the driver, LEDs indicators to show service status and a vandal-proof piezoelectric touch keypad (with no physical displacement). Thus, by means of dedicated keys may be changed the communications group and the working mode, activating hands-free mode, sending predefined messages or making call requests to Control Center.

On other side, Integrated Console presents similar features tan Modular Console. The main difference lies in the size because the integrated one incorporates the audio accessories in the mechanic, being bigger than the modular.

Finally, the RCC-3000 is a new user interface model based on 8” touchscreen (PCT, Projected Capacitive Touch). The main features of this console are listed as follow:  IP67 protection degree, day/night sensor, wide range of ports and connectivity options or highly configurable interface (functionality associated and appearance). As added-value, this touchscreen console is fully integrated with TELTRONIC CCTV solution, allowing the driver to supervise images coming from on-board cameras and manage radio communications from a single interface.
